The first section of this course introduces the topic with a video, explains the outline of the course and aims to establish the learners current understanding of the topic.

Section 1:

The first section defines what a traumatic brain injury is and how it effects aspects of daily life such as cognition, behaviour, social and psychosocial functioning.

Section 2:

This section outlines the different uses of social media apps and the effects on mental health. The purpose of this section is to establish a foundation of understating about the effects of increased social media in everyday life.

Section 3:

This section focuses on gaining a better understanding of how traumatic brain injuries impact individuals social media use. This includes the benefits of social media to rehabilitation and considers the risks to wellbeing.

Section 4:

The fourth section defines capacity and its application to using the internet and social media, including how to carry out a capacity assessment for this population.

Section 5:

This section highlights several support models that will be of use to healthcare professionals when supporting TBI clients. Ensuring appropriate and safe use of the internet and social media.

Section 6:

The final section of this course allows the learner to apply their knowledge to case study examples which will recap their knowledge and solidify understanding. The course concludes here with a feedback questionnaire and information about future in-person training opportunities at Psychology Chartered.
